How to Apply for a Work-Based Learning Opportunity:

Students applying for a job shadow, tour, camp, or presentation need only to submit the Work-Based Learning Application to the Career Center in their high school.

Students applying for an internship or mentorship must submit the Work-Based Learning Application AND the following items to their Career Center contact person:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter
  • Copy of school transcript (does not need to be an official transcript)
  • Two completed recommendation forms. One must be submitted by the student’s high tech teacher, the other by any teacher, counselor, or employer.

What happens after the entire application packet is received?

  • Your application packet will be reviewed by the Career Center staff
  • Student interview will be conducted by Career Center staff on school site
  • Selected students will interview at potential internship sites
  • Employer will determine final placement
  • School contact, employer, and student will work together to set up internship (and all
    necessary paperwork)
